Tes Lyssiotis is a playwright and theatre director. Lyssiotis has worked as a secondary school drama and history teacher, and served as the drama consultant for the Knox Region, as well as on the boards of La Mama Theatre and the Drama Panel for the Victorian Ministry of the Arts. All of her plays have been performed to much acclaim, including Hotel Bonegilla (1983), The Journey (1985), The Forty Lounge Café (1990) and Blood Moon (1993). Three of her plays have been published in the collection A White Sports Coat and Other Plays (1996). She was nominated for the Australian Writer’s Guild AWGIE in 2003 for her play Paradise. In addition to being the founder of the Filiki Players theatre group, Lyssiotis was also Guest Director at Hot House Theatre and director and dramaturge for comedian Mathew Hardy. Most recently, La Mama Theatre marked its 50th anniversary with an acclaimed revival of Hotel Bonegilla in 2017 and 10`8.
