The First Pontian Genocide Seminar

 

The First Pontian Genocide, on Thursday May 19, 7 pm, at the Greek Cultural Centre. This is a joint event between the Greek Community of Melbourne’s Greek History and Culture Public Seminar Series and Pontiaki Estia.

The tragic events culminating in 1922 are not the first time genocide has been associated with the region of Pontus.

The Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne,The Central Pontian Association of Melbourne “Pontiaki Estia”, Merimna Pontion Kyrion Oceania and  in conjunction with the Australian Federation of Pontian Associations, are hosting a lecture by lawyer, poet and short story writer, Dean Kalimniou titled “The First Pontian Genocide: Mithridates and Rome”.
