The Greek Centre (Greek Centre for Contemporary Culture) – is the cultural arm of the Greek Community of Melbourne. It operates as both a venue and as a presenter/producer. The Centre can be found in the heart of Melbourne’s historic Greek Precinct 168 Lonsdale Street Melbourne. The Centre was completed in 2015 and its activities attract over 1400 visitors per week,
The Greek Community of Melbourne was established in 1897. Melbourne is home to the largest Greek speaking community in the world outside of Greece.
A unique feature of the Greek Centre’s design is the image of Discobulus (The Discus Thrower) who can be seen on the facade of the building.
